Labor Day Weekend

We had an extra-long labor day weekend this year.  Drew was off Friday-Monday and we jam packed our weekend!

Friday we went to the indoor play area at the Flatirons mall.  We didn’t do any shopping but did get the car washed and ate ice cream 🙂

There is also a huge sandbox outside of the indoor play area.  Claire thought it was pretty neat!

Saturday was our work day.  Claire and I went to stroller strides in the morning while Drew got the yard spruced up.  We did our grocery shopping and mainly hung around the house.  Sunday we had our friends over for pizza night which I showed the great menu in the last post!  It was a lot of fun.  We discovered Sunday morning the reason Claire has been a bit of a crank lately, she is working on her two top canine teeth.  Then to make matters worse, Sunday night she rode one of her toys off the deck and busted open her lip.  It was so sad.  There was blood, and she was bawling.  She is now sporting a big fat lip!  I hope it heals soon because she keeps touching it so I know it bothers her!

Monday was our really fun day!  We started off the day with a hike at Lookout Mountain in Golden and a picnic lunch!  We picked a really short hike (.6 miles up and .6 miles down) because we thought Claire would like to, you know, actually hike.  She didn’t want to.  I think it was a little too steep for her but man she is HEAVY in that back pack now!  I was huffing and puffing by the time we reached the top!

The views were really something!

After our hike we took Claire home for a nap and then continued our day of fun with a trip to the zoo!

If you look closely in the above picture you can see how her bottom lip is red from her spill

Claire is exquisitely beautiful , So beautiful in fact that a tear came to my eye. GrandPa and I decided she could be a model. So happy that you do all of these fun family things together.
